Central Bank of Kenya Pension Towers
Structural design and construction supervision, Nairobi CBD.
Service 01 / 06
Structural engineering is needed when a client is putting up a new building, adding floors, changing structural use, altering an existing structure, or submitting a building package that requires structural drawings and calculations.
For buildings in Kenya, the structural engineer's work supports three things in sequence: approval, construction, and later accountability. The county will not issue development permission without architectural and structural drawings signed by a registered consultant (Physical and Land Use Planning Act, 2019; Engineers Act, 2011). The National Construction Authority (NCA) will not let the contractor break ground without those same signed drawings on file (NCA Act, 2011). On site, the contractor then needs drawings that can actually be built and inspected.
Shomax designs reinforced-concrete and structural-steel buildings for public, institutional, and commercial clients. The work covers structural schemes, design calculations, structural drawings, reinforcement and steelwork details, coordination with architectural and building-services drawings, construction-stage clarification, and site inspection where appointed.
Eng. Shoni's Ministry of Public Works background gives this service its discipline: sound design assumptions, buildable details, proper checking, and supervision records that support the client through construction and handover.
